End of the Month Review

This is the 5th month in a row that I've kept a spreadsheet to keep track of my expenses and income. I cannot express in words how much the mere act of writing things down greatly affected how I spent money. Having one file to go to to see everything you spent your money on reallly ramps up the feeling of accountability. I encourage everyone to do it. It can really change your life for the better.

Comparing the net worth number on the left with the number from May (5988.50) really puts a smile on my face. Most of that gain was simply from focusing on paying off debt!

Now that I'm on track to be debt free in 6 months I've decided that from now on any extra income earned will go toward my ING account where it will be spilt between my long term e-fund goal (6 months of expenses) and future Roth contributions.

I've stopped selling Wii's because the margin has gotten too thin to be worth the hassle. Instead I have decided to sell off my entire cd collection. This process will takes months since I own 750+ of the little suckers. I've bought CD's long before the advent of MP3's and I continued to buy them even after MP3 became the popular choice. I prefer CD's because MP3's cannot match their sound quality. However, nothing is stopping me from ripping the music to my computer and then selling the originals. I've already begun to sell them on ebay. My goal is to sell all of them by December.
